Key findings
- Broughton in Buckinghamshire has the highest crime rate in Britain with 379.7 crimes per 1,000 people
- Middlewich in Cheshire is the safest area with just 0.25 crimes per 1,000 people
- Leeds recorded the highest total number of crimes with 90,610 in a 12-month period.

We used crime data from CrimeRate, looking at reports over a 12-month period ending in September 2024. Areas were ranked based on the number of crimes committed per 1,000 people.
